This feeling has been around for months, possibly years. You try a new habit, it goes well for the first week or two, but then the same pattern returns.
Mindfulness is never quite enough. Therapists have come and gone, maybe over the course of years. And the question creeps in: will it ever get better, or is this just your life now?
If you are dealing with depression or anxiety, welcome.
Those anxiety spirals have become common. But you had one the other day that was different. It was worse.
You wonder if it was a panic attack? But it couldn’t be – you aren’t someone who has panic attacks. Now you worry it’ll happen again, so you start avoiding difficult situations.
If you are dealing with panic, welcome.
You made it through, but just barely. Now you know about abuse or even narcissistic abuse cycles, and you wish you didn’t. How do you move forward from here?
You want to be a better partner, friend, and even parent, but you’re unsure of how to even start.
If you're trying to figure out how to move forward, welcome.
Always looking over your shoulder, even when your brain knows there is no threat. Everything feels a bit scary, like something will always go wrong. Social events require an escape plan.
Watching others go about their lives, you wonder how they are that carefree. There are people who get it, who have been through something. And there are people who don’t.
If the fallout from trauma has derailed your life, welcome. This feeling can continue for the next several years – or decades.
The panic can keep increasing. The issues can keep getting avoided. Bare survival can become the baseline.
Or…You can swim instead of treading water. The chatter can stop enough for you to be present in your life and enjoy it again.
Confidence in dating becomes possible. Moving on from that divorce is possible – so is becoming a better parent, friend, partner. You can stop looking over your shoulder for the next terrible thing to happen.
The other starts here.
I bring my training and presence to wade into the chaos your life has become to sit with you and figure out what is going on. I don’t get scared of big emotions, and I create a judgment-free environment for you to bring yourself and your story.
What I offer is presence: a witness to your life and what has brought you to this place. Together, we bring compassion to your story, and then we find a way forward.
My primary specialization is Lifespan Integration, a body-based trauma therapy that clients often describe as like EMDR, only gentler. I also draw on tools suited to where you are: anxiety and panic, life after a difficult relationship, hypervigilance and trauma responses.
I have had my own journey and have been on both sides of this process. Please be aware that crying and swearing are not only options here – they are welcomed as we work through the tough things in your life.
