I know you’ve probably clicked through several directories already. You’re reading bios, looking at photos, trying to figure out who you’ll actually click with.
Here’s what I’ll tell you directly: the best therapist on paper might not be the best therapist for you. Call a few people. Choose the one you connect with. I mean that.
Therapy is not a performance. You don’t have to arrive with the right words or a well-organized explanation of what’s wrong. You bring the hurt, the confusion, the anger, the overwhelm – that’s the material we work with.

At its most basic level, therapy helps you learn to regulate emotions. Most of us weren’t taught how to do that. Feelings were something to push through, ignore, or apologize for.
So we go back and relearn. Think of it as filling in what was missed. If self-confidence is missing, we work on that. If self-compassion is missing, we work on that.
Therapy isn’t abstract. It’s targeted at whatever’s actually causing problems in your life right now.
For some people, something specific derailed things – a divorce, a loss, a season at work that broke something open. When that happens, you need a dedicated person to help untangle what’s gotten derailed and get you back to functioning. That’s where I come in.

I start every session by asking how your week went. We use that to figure out what’s most useful to work on that day.
You’re not expected to talk about yourself for an hour straight. That’s not how this works.
Most sessions, we’ll spend the second half using Lifespan Integration, a somatic therapy for clearing the effects of trauma and reducing anxiety symptoms.
The short version: instead of talking about an issue for months, LI works with your brain’s own capacity to process what needs to be processed. Think EMDR, only gentler.

These aren’t therapy-speak. They’re things I actually believe, and you’ll find them useful whether or not we ever work together.
I can see both the inherent uniqueness of each person and the potential similarities you share with others. Meaning: there has never been anyone exactly like you, yet there are others dealing with similar issues.
So I have some idea of what you’re going through, and yet I don’t know your particular story yet. Allow me to learn from you as we go through this process together.
I am licensed in Washington as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LH61416253), with a Master’s in Counseling Psychology from The Seattle School. My clinical training included an internship at Compass Health in Snohomish and work with at-risk teens through Therapeutic Health Services in South Seattle.
I am currently pursuing Certification in Lifespan Integration, a somatic therapy for reducing anxiety symptoms and clearing the effects of trauma.
I recently married my partner of several years, and together we are raising her two kids. My path to counseling ran through several other careers first: boatbuilding, nannying, and owning a house-painting business. In my free time, I enjoy exploring nature and people watching.
