You’re awake again, wondering why a good night’s sleep keeps slipping past you. The thoughts buzz and swirl, circling your mind, each one trying to grab your attention.
They tell you this is all you’ll ever be. That you’ll never do better than this.
Boundaries were supposed to help. Either they don’t hold, or enforcing them leaves you feeling cruel. Building a healthy life has started to feel like too much.
It feels exhausting just getting through the day. And sleep holds no promise of actual rest.
The lists run on, never completed. Day after day, week after week, it drags on.
Social time sounds like a good idea, but just too much when you try to reach out. Why doesn’t it get any easier? Life can’t be this difficult for everyone.

Anxiety and depression are categories. They gather up symptoms most people feel at some point, at a level that makes daily life hard to manage.
Those categories name something you’re living through. Who you are runs deeper than any of them.
I pay attention to your particular way of moving through the world, and to the shape of your own life story. Witnessing someone’s story, and helping them find a way out of the morass they’ve landed in, is an honor.
The first part of therapy is getting to know each other. I don’t expect you to spill everything the first time I see you. Or the second.
Pouring it all out before there’s trust between us leaves you with an emotional hangover, raw from having shared too much too fast.
Once some trust is built, we go into the messier parts together. We’ll look at your life story and how it shows up in your days now. We’ll trace not just when your symptoms started, but why – then we can work on the cause and the symptoms both.

Say your sleepless nights come from thoughts that won’t stop swirling. Push a thought away and it resurfaces somewhere else, at the worst possible moment – like the second your head hits the pillow.
So we look at them instead. I’ll sit with you and sort through the pile, working out what each one needs.
More often than you’d expect, a thought just needs a little attention before it quiets and goes.
Anxiety and depression often live in the body, not only the mind.
For that, I use Lifespan Integration, a gentle somatic approach that helps your body catch up to the present. Read more about how it works on my Lifespan Integration page.
